Hampshire U15 Boys Squad… I am so proud that we picked up our first trophy of the season with the Hampshire U15 Boys Squad. We beat Surrey 5-1 and Sussex 5-1 to lift the SSH Triangular Shield at Puttenham Golf Club last weekend. It is brilliant to be part of the coaching team to the Hampshire Squad and seeing these players evolve. Hopefully the first of many trophies this season!

The Masters The first major of the year is now just a week away and all eyes will be on Augusta next week to see who takes home the coveted Green Jacket. These are my Masters picks: |
Justin Thomas - World number 6 Finished in the top 40 of his first three Masters and finishing higher up the leaderboard each time. He also has a connection to the members course record holder Jeff Knox, his son Lee and Justin Thomas were on the Alabama's National Championship golf team together. I'm sure Mr Knox has lots of inside information about the course with his course record of 61! Added to this Justin Thomas’s high ball flight with his irons is perfect for Augusta, he is also a great front runner if he has an explosive start.
Tommy Fleetwood - World number 12 Has played very well in America with a tied 3rd in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and tied 5th at the Players, surely a PGA tour win is just around the corner. Fleetwood has also made 7 consecutive cuts in major championships. He has proved he can go low at Augusta shooting 66 in his third round last year, he also handled the pressure well of playing with Tiger Woods in the first two rounds.
Justin Rose - World number 2 His record speaks for itself at Augusta, Justin’s worse finish was 39th on his debut, since then he has played 13 times with 11 top 25 finishes, 5 top 10s and two runner up spots. He has also been practicing at his home club of Albany in the Bahamas, where the green keepers have got a couple of greens to the speed of Augusta.

And the winner is... Thank you to all the members that took part in my Brand, Price, Fit survey. Congratulations go to Mike Newman who was the winner of the Titleist AVX golf balls for completing the survey. The results show that 70% of you believe that custom fitting is the most important when buy new equipment, price was the second most important at 17% and the brand of the product was the least important at 13%. Also only 66% of you have been custom fitted which shows that at least 34% of you could be using poorly fitted clubs. Contact me here to book a custom fitting.

Boa constrict your footwear |
There's been two major trends in the golf footwear market in recent years: the first is the surge in spikeless shoes, and the other is Boa. So, what actually is the Boa Fit System and is it anything to do with snakes? |
| FootJoy UltraFIT Boa golf shoe
No, it's nothing to do with snakes. Phew. Rather, the Boa Fit System has revolutionized footwear for the better and we absolutely love it. Instead of using traditional laces, Boa utilises a steel wire (virtually unbreakable) that is effortlessly tightened via an easy-to-use dial strategically placed on the shoe (seen above). To loosen, simply pull out the dial and open up at the tongue. |
With FootJoy's UltraFIT Boa, which is available in-store now, you will be guaranteed a comfortable fit every time safe in the knowledge that your laces will not come undone or get tangled throughout your round. If you haven’t already experienced Boa, then we implore you to come down to the store and try on this fantastic option today - no obligation. |
