A message from our Junior Organisers

Dear Juniors and parents/guardians of juniors,

We would like to introduce ourselves as the new LOSGC Junior organisers, Tony Marden and Stu Slowther. As I am sure you can all agree, the junior section at the golf course offers our budding golfers some excellent tuition provided by our Head Professional and Assistant Professionals, Kevin, Nathan and Harry. As the juniors progress and become interested in developing their overall golf game, the club would like to provide more opportunities for them to play in competitive environments and take their golfing fundamentals and apply them in more challenging surroundings.

We have three main aims over the coming year. Firstly, we would like to provide opportunities for the juniors to play in competitive team events in the local area, aiming for a match per month. We aim to reinvigorate the Evans Cup, which is the LOSGC Junior championship, to be held in the Spring/Summer of 2020. Finally, we aim to host a Summer Juniors Open at the club.

A good deal of these events will require our juniors to gain, and maintain an official handicap through the club. Initially, we would like to gauge the interest levels for becoming part of the junior team and being willing to take part in organised events. We will also provide an opportunity to discuss the proposed plans in a short meeting to be held in the near future (following one of the training sessions at the weekend).
