Competition results

Who's been winning the recent competitions?

Another excellent week of competitions at Lee-On-The-Solent this week with more outstanding performances, beginning on Friday in the Stableford Qualifier.

Division one saw Toby Horton win with an outstanding 41 points, Neil Dunn matched in division two and Candice Le Faucheur had a brilliant score of 33 points in the ladies.

Division one

1st Toby Horton 41 points | 2nd Robert Taubman 39 points | 3rd Mark Connet 39 points | 4th Mark Dunnington 39 points.

Division two

1st Neil Dunn 41 points| 2nd Gavin Brown 39 points | 3rd Terry Boniface 37 points | 4th Sean Finn 36 points.

Ladies

1st Candice Le Faucheur 33 points | 2nd Morgan Peterson 32 points.

In our best two from four team competition an outstanding display of dovetailing saw Jim McFaul, Sandy Jardine, Russell Say and Paul Cunningham win with an outstanding score.

Adrian Mawby with a strong 40 points won division one in the Sunday Stableford and Cam Lindsey winning division two on countback from Will Putter, Candice Le Faucheur with back to back wins with an outstanding 39 points in the ladies.

1st Cam Lindsay 37 points | 2nd Will Putter 37 points | 3rd Tom Bell 36 points | 4th George Tindale 36 points.

In our over 60’s yellow tee Stableford competition on Monday, an outstanding 42 points saw Ken Guerard take first place in division one and with a brilliant 43 points, division two belonged to Malcolm Healy.

Golf on Tour

Another World Number 1

Jon Rahm’s stint at the top of the rankings lasted just a single week. All eyes were on Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson to challenge the Spaniard for that top-of-the-world spot. But it was Justin Thomas, slipping under the radar, who reclaimed it with a win at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

If Thomas had gone under the radar beforehand, he certainly didn’t on Sunday. A combination of pink trousers and outstanding golf saw the 27-year-old steal the show, coming from four shots behind overnight leader Brendon Todd, he overtook the likes of Koepka and Rickie Fowler with a 5-under 65 at TPC Southwind.

Control your ball, conquer the course
